In my random musical wanderings, I came across something today that absolutely floored me.

Bruce Peninsula, from their name sake area of Canada.

I can only sum up their music in this way:

Tom Waits and Sigur Ros run off to the evergreen woods of Canada. They build a house on a lake out of the woods they live in. They raise a son, who becomes a preacher. When they die, the son transforms the wooden house where he was raised into a church. The music you hear are his sermons, backed by the gospel voices of his followers. The stuff is manic, expansive, delicate and gravelly.

Give it a listen. You can stream the whole album here.
